DAY 12--ANOTHER DAY IN USHUAIA

Today we got another early startl but there was a mix up with oue private tour guide. Jules had emailed him this morning to find out he had showed up yesterday knowing the ship was coming in a day early. He and Jules agreed for us to meet at 9AM where we get off the ship. We stood around for about an hour with winds of about 20 mph and the winds made for a very hard wait. It's a long pier to walk so I started out before the rest and the wind almost took me off my feet. Can you picture that scene?

Jules, Rita and Enid caught up to me and when we entered the local street there was the guide. We thought he meant on the pier and he thought at the end of the pier. So off we went and first he took us to Tierra Del Fuego which is a National Park and we stopped several times for pictures. This is such a beautiful area. We went to other places all around for about 3 hours and it was another great day. Thankfully the winds were not as strong and the temperature rose enough to be comfortable.

He said taxis were not allowed on the pier so he dropped us off at the beginning but I had walked my limit today so luckily Enid was able to communicate enough with the security guard and he got a wheel chair and took me all the way back to the ship. If I had to walk it, I'd still be doing it.

I didn't have a lot of time so I tried something new to dry my hair. It was Enid's hot air brush and it really straightened it a lot but had a little body to it. I thought it looked different for me and decided to leave it that way for a change. I was so surprised when a few folks gave me a compliment on my hair. I might try it again tomorrow as it will be the second formal night. Dinner was nothing special but Jules had asked if they would make key lime pie for him and CiHan came across once again.

I finally used my scooter for the first time tonight as I have done lots and lots of walking up until now. It took some getting used to but after breaking my ankles 3 times and using a scooter those times made it easier to get adjusted.

The show tonight was a singer named Claude Eric Brunelle and he had a very good voice but he really loved himself a lot more than the entire audience. He needs to perform his act in front of a mirror so he could see the faces he makes as he sings and dances (sometimes prances) around the stage.

Enid and I were very excited about having a sea day tomorrow but before we went into dinner the captain made an announcement that tomorrow we will be passing Cape Horn at 7 AM so we have to get up at 6AM and go to Carolyn's cabin at 6:30 so we can see whatever there will be to see. I sure hope it will be exciting as we are definitely becoming sleep deprived.

Bye for now. I have been going to sleep about 2-3 hours earlier than when I'm home from sheer exhaustion.

Even though it was 2 PM we went to the buffet and had some lunch.
