DAY 5 SEA DAY

Got up this morning and turned the computer on and somehow between the hotel and the ship my computer got ruined but for now it's going to have to do. This is just a warning in case some of the days look a little off. So needless to say today did not start wonderfully.

Met Jules and Rita for breakfast and raced to the theater for our first lecture on Antarctica. Jules and I thought it was so interesting we both tooks naps. Then we went to buy computer minutes so I could start posting my blog. After lunch we went to another lecture and this time all four of us had very long blinks.

Since tonight was formal night we went back to the cabin to get ready for our complimentary cocktail hour which happens to be 2 hours long. We got to the dining room exactly on time (6:30) and we were finally served our entree at
8 PM. We were extremely patient and did not complain. We did tell our assistant maitre de what had happened last night and pointed out the culprit. We asked him who that was and it was the restaurant manager. I really don't care who he is--he should never have spoken to us in that tone. Our assistant maitre de said he would take care of it. I left the dining room first to save seats for Enid and another lady at our table. By the time I got to the theater there were no seats left so I stood in the back waiting for the rest of the crew to come. Enid came first and told me I missed the fight. It seems like the same guy from last night came back to the table and said they had 10 minutes to leave. There were other diners still eating but he chose to come and pick on us. He had been watching the table and saw they had just gotten their coffee and teas. He said they opened the dining room 15 minutes early tonight but apparently it was a secret. Rita asked for his name and he said he was food and beverage manager and Rita told him he was being very rude. Then he turned around and said he was sorry but they felt it was insincere since this was the second night that he was asking us to leave.

By the way they gave all the ladies a long stem red rose. Now let's get back to the show. We went up to the balcony and were standing in the corner and we got lucky with 2 people leaving. Then another 2 left so Rita and Jules got those seats. After the show we went to guest services and asked to meet with the hotel director. The girl suggested
we go to the Food and Beverage manager and she was going to see if she could find him. He came down to talk to us within 5 minutes and we told him our story. Jules did most of the talking but we all had a say. He apologized a few times and said he would look into this He also said he would stop by tomorrow night and we invited him to join us.
He said he might just do that.

After he left we went to the casino to make a donation but on .50 I hit for 75.75 on a penny machine. I cashed in almost immediately and when we got back to the cabin there was a bottle of Asti which I love.

It seems llike we are always in the middle of some kind of excitement.
