DAY 2 Santiago to Buenos Aires
Here we are waiting for Jules and Rita to get off their flight and they finally show up and we go to gate 15 which is posted on the electronic screen. It's now past boarding time and there are very few people waiting so Jules went to check and they changed it to gate 10 so we go off and running---welI I lagged a lot behind but we made it. The flight was only 1 1/2 hours and I was able to fall asleep before we even pulled away from the gate.
Jules had arranged to have someone pick us up and he was there waiting but didn't speak a word of English. All I can say about the drivers in Buenos Aires is even though there are lined lanes those lines mean nothing. The drivers go wherever they want. It's quite scary.
We got to the hotel and it is gorgeous. They don't have a reservation counter but individual desks. When we sat down they asked if we wanted something to drink like water, soda or orange juice. The O.J. was delicious-fresh squeezed and cold. We decided to meet in the lobby at 3:30 and walk around and after a while I was hurting so I went back to get off my feet. Enid came back shortly after and Linda called and they were coming over to our hotel around 7 and the 6 of us were going to dinner. The concierge had recommended a steak place about a block away and we had checked it out on our walk.
Dinner was excellent and we had a great time and now it's time to go to bed as we're exhausted. We're meeting Jules and Rita at 9 AM
